Growing Methods

We can grow Shevanti flower plant in our home by 3 different methods. These methods are explained below:-

1.By Suckers

In this method, the main stem of Shevanti flower is cut down a little above the ground level. This ends the apical dominance and there occurs the growth of lateral buds. Later, these later buds grow into branches with roots at the base. These branches having roots are called Suckers. The suckers thus formed are separated from the mother plant and are planted directly into the field, flower beds and pots. Suckers should be planted in the rainy season maintaining a distance of (30×30) cm.

2.Terminal Cuttings

The cutting from the tip part of the main stem and side branches of the Shevanti is called terminal cutting. The length of the terminal cutting should be about 5 cm. The cuttings are dipped into the rotting hormone and are planted in beds in semi-shade condition. Later, these terminal cuttings grow into the whole plant and start to bloom.

Growing Shevanti flower from seed takes time and is good to produce new cultivars. Blooms are collected when they dry completely. Then, The seeds are taken out of bloom. Now – the seeds are sown and sprinkle water is applied and after a week seedlings appear from which we can grow a new Shevanti plant.
